Hairspray is also very useful when applying UV stencils. Just lightly spray the surface with unperfumed hairspray - after a short drying time (about 1-2 minutes) the surface will remain slightly sticky, which will help the stencil to adhere better. This simple step can save a lot of time and trouble when applying more complex designs.
Barrier when filling with paint
If you are using a colour fill technique after sandblasting, hairspray can also serve as a temporary barrier to prevent the colour from melting before removing the mask. For this purpose, however, we recommend a rather matt clear varnish that does not remain sticky after drying. The stickiness could cause the paint to get caught on the stencil or the walls of the sandblasted areas, which could lead to the paint peeling off.
A little tip for the end
Use an unscented hairspray. And who knows - you might find it useful for a quick haircut or when you're feeling nostalgic for the 80s, in addition to sandblasting.
